Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026 · yourjulius.com
1. Introduction
Julius ("Julius," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website yourjulius.com and the Julius financial accountability service (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have. By accessing the Service or submitting your email address to join our waitlist, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Email address. When you join the Julius waitlist, we collect the email address you submit. We use it to notify you about early access, product updates, and launch news.
- Mobile phone number. If you enroll in the SMS service, we collect your mobile phone number to send you account alerts and financial insights via text message.
- Account credentials. If you create a Julius account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store your bank login credentials.
2.2 Financial Information (via Plaid)
To connect your bank account, Julius uses Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid"). When you link a financial institution, Plaid authenticates directly with your bank on your behalf. Julius receives from Plaid: transaction history, account balances, account type and name, and institution identity. We do not receive or store your bank username or password. Plaid's collection and handling of your data is governed by Plaid's own Privacy Policy.
2.3 Automatically Collected Data
- IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited when you access our website.
- Device identifiers and mobile network information if you interact with our SMS service.
- Log data and analytics data to understand how the Service is used.
2.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies required for the Service to function (e.g., session management). We may also use analytics cookies (such as those provided by Google Analytics) to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect Service functionality.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- To send you waitlist confirmation and early-access notifications by email.
- To send you financial insights, spending alerts, and account notifications by SMS (with your prior express written consent).
- To analyze your linked account transactions and generate personalized financial accountability messages.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity.
- To respond to your questions, comments, and support requests.
4. SMS Communications and TCPA Compliance
By providing your mobile phone number and enrolling in Julius SMS alerts, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Julius at the number provided, including transactional messages (e.g., transaction alerts, balance summaries) and, where separately consented, promotional messages. Consent to receive marketing SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
To opt out: Reply STOP to any Julius text message at any time. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent, except as required by law.
For help: Reply HELP or email us at support@yourjulius.com.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Julius complies with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable state laws governing text message communications.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Plaid Technologies, Inc. — to connect and retrieve data from your financial institutions.
- SMS gateway providers — to deliver text messages to your mobile device on our behalf.
- Email service providers — to deliver waitlist confirmations and product communications.
- Analytics providers — aggregated, de-identified data to understand site usage.
- Legal and regulatory authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
- Business transfers — if Julius is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Service before your data is subject to a materially different privacy policy.
All service providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Financial transaction data is retained for up to 24 months to provide trend analysis, unless you request earlier deletion. Upon account closure or a verified deletion request, we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, strict access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and disclaim liability for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
8. Your Privacy Rights
8.1 All Users
- Access & correction. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct inaccuracies.
- Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal data. We will honor this request subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Opt-out of marketing. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. You may opt out of SMS as described in Section 4.
8.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; (b) request deletion of personal information; (c) opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share your data for cross-context behavioral advertising); and (d) non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To submit a request, email privacy@yourjulius.com. We will respond within 45 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our lawful bases for processing your personal data are: (a) your consent (for waitlist emails and SMS); (b) performance of a contract (for delivering the Service); and (c) our legitimate interests (for security and fraud prevention). You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, access, rectify, erase, or port your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@yourjulius.com.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-Party Links
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites (including Plaid, payment processors, and social platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, where feasible, notify you by email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
